The apartment can be found in the popular and charming district of Eixample. Its famous grid-like street plan is not only easy to spot on the city maps but also one of the first of its kind in the world to ever be appropriated. Eixample is the home to almost all of Antoni Gaudi’s constructions so be prepared to witness his architectural finger prints at every corner. The district is also famous for its upmarket shopping street, Paseo de Gracia, from which the apartment of course takes its name. It is no surprise to learn that it is located only a few metres away. Here you will find two of the city’s most popular buildings - Casa Batllo and Casa Mila. The latter is also known as ‘La Pedrera’ and both buildings were created by the city’s favourite artistic son Antoni Gaudi. To see Gaudi’s most famous creation, the iconic La Sagrada Familia, then simply hop on the metro at Paseo de Gracia and alight at the station of the same name. There is no denying that the design is creative and certainly unusual. However after more than 130 years under construction it remains yet unfinished. Step back in time by visiting the nearby Gothic Quarter. Its many narrow winding medieval streets reveal secret courtyards and it’s likely you will get lost here. Don’t worry, this area is mainly free of general traffic and losing your way is all part of the city’s charm.
